This Camerons Gourmet Mini Starter Kit is an ideal introduction to hot smoking and makes the perfect gift for those wanting a quick and easy technique for hot smoking - even in your own kitchen. The kit includes everything you need to get started, just add the food. Along with the Camerons Gourmet Mini Hot Smoker, we've added 2 x 200g bags of Hot Smoked mini wood chips in Cherry and Beech, our Hot Smoked 24 page recipe booklet and, also supplied with the smoker, a Camerons User Guide with Recipes and two tester mini chip pots in Oak and Hickory.

The Camerons Gourmet Mini Smoker is ideal for use both in the home on a stovetop on your barbecue outside or out and about as its an ideal portable size - about the size of a shoebox. It's constructed in solid stainless steel which is dishwasher proof and an ideal material to conduct the heat required to make the wood chips which are placed on the inside base to smoulder, creating wonderful smokey flavours in which the food cooks and steams.

No fats or oils are needed during the cooking process and you'll find that the steaming effect of the smoker delivers extremely moist and succulent results, permeated with aromatic wood smoke. The density of the smoke flavour depends on which wood you use - oak and hickory are rich and strong, cherry give a medium sweet smoke, whilst beech delivers a beautifully subtle smoke flavour to delicately flavoured foods. Choose a wood flavour strength to suit the food you are cooking and vary the amount you use to get just the right level of smokiness. We advise just a heaped tablespoon added to the base of your, but you can vary this according to your own tastes.

As long as the Camerons is placed directly above a heat source, the wood chips will start to smoulder. That heat source could be your stovetop cooker indoors, a gas or charcoal barbecue outdoors or a makeshift campfire.
