Our Apple wood dust has a rounded, fairly heavy smoke flavour with a tiny hint of sweetness. It is a favourite for charcuterie and meats as well as fish and cold smoked cheeses. The wood is dark in colour and the dust consistency can vary from regular fine particles to slightly larger rice sized flakes.
As the dust size can be on the larger side, so this flavour is not always suitable for the ProQ Cold Smoke Generator and other slow smoulder cold smokers. As this is a natural product, batches can vary, but it can be blended with a lighter flavour such as Beech to promote even smouldering. It is suitable for stainless steel tray style smokers such as the Camerons.
Pack size is approximately 500g giving you 50 hours of cold smoking in a ProQ generator. Packaged in sealed cellophane bags. Reseal bags after use, store in a cool dry place and your wood dust will deliver great results for up to 2 years.
