Description | This large pizza peel or paddle is 36cm long, so will take a large 14" size pizza. Made of strong, flexible aluminium and with a wooden handle, the peel allows you to transfer your doughy pizza onto the stone baking board with ease. Coat with a layer of flour, polenta or semolina to be sure the pizza doesn't stick and will slide off easily. Also the best tool to remove your cooked pizza. Cooking a pizza is a rapid affair and to achieve an even charring - the hallmark of an authentic wood-fired oven cooked pizza - you need to rotate the pizza two or three times during the 60 seconds or so it takes to cook. This ensures the charring or leoparding is at just the right level, all the way round and eliminates too much charring from heat hotspots. Using a peel makes this process swift and efficient. |
